Accommodations

We select accommodation together with you, based on the season, hiking routes, and your preferences for the trip. For autumn trips, we primarily use Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge and/or lavvu (traditional Sami tent), while winter trips are hosted at Nedre Mollisjok Mountain Lodge or Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge.

Nedre Mollisjok Mountain Lodge

In the middle of the wilderness, we are greeted by the Johnsen family who has been running the mountain lodge for several generations. With Piera and his son Simen, you'll get up close to nature and Sami traditions in a friendly and relaxed environment. Piera himself takes care of the cooking, preparing locally sourced, hearty, and delicious food.

Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge

Between Alta and Kautokeino, in a mixed terrain of wilderness, mountains, and lakes, we are welcomed by Maj-Lis Klingan. Her family took over the operation of the 180-year-old property in 1961, and the buildings have been updated and renovated with great respect for its history. The food is homemade, based on ingredients from the wilderness, and with contributions from smaller, local producers.

Lavvu

We also offer accommodation in lavvu, either in combination with a mountain lodge or for the entire stay. Gathering the group for a delicious meal by a crackling fire in a large lavvu is a truly authentic experience. The lavvus can accommodate six guests, and there is a separate toilet lavvu. If you choose the lavvu option, you will need to bring your own sleeping bag.
